2 Birds With One Stone Fishing Tournament Set Sept. 29

September 29, 2019 at Black Lake will mark the second year for the 2 Birds With 1 Stone Tournament that was started by Angela J. Roach. This bass fishing tournament is in memory of her father-in-law Chuck Roach and this year will be in honor of Steve Garrabrant who was diagnosed Multiplemyeloma in late fall last year.

Both Mrs. Roach, and Mr. Garrabrant fish in the Northern New York Bassmasters Team Tournaments.

“When I found out about Steve's diagnosis, it was a given who the 2019 “2 Birds With 1 Stone” would benefit. After some convincing Steve did finally agree to let this happen. I believe in “ Do Unto Others,” said Mrs. Roach.

"We never know what cards we are given at any time. To me this means that it wise to help others cause you never know when it may be you who needs help. I hope one day at some point at one of these benefit tournaments I see a memorial for my father-in-law, Chuck Roach, that states his love of fishing, but also will read the words of “Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You". This will be in reverence to the “2 Birds with 1 Stone Tournament”, because I will get to smile as I will always remember how it was a simple question to Chuck, to ask him to walk me down the aisle to marry his son, that started a Fishing Tournament to hopefully help many."

The tournament will offer a 50/50 payout with an entry fee of $60 per team. All boats must have a working live well. Anglers can sign in at Black Lake on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at 5:30 am, with a briefing at to follow. Any questions regarding this tournament you can contact Angela Roach at 315-344-7196. She is also on Facebook.

A Chuck Roach Memorial plaque will be presented for the first place team and Lunker of the day and the plaque is donated by Chuck's Disposable Services. Chuck Roach was a longtime angler in the NNYB Club and was a staunch supporter of the NNY Junior Bassmasters Club.

Each year the NNY Junior Bassmasters hold a tournament on Black Lake which begins with a special "Cast for Chuck".

Chuck Roach not only taught his sons Arnold and Chris to fish but also his grandsons Eric, Connor, Parker and Landon.
