66 Roos Earn NAC Fall Academic Awards

Waterville, ME – Sixty-six SUNY Canton student-athletes across 12 sports have been recognized on the Fall 2020 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) All-Academic Team, as announced on Tuesday.

In order to be eligible for All-Academic honors, student athletes must be participating members of their respective team and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Member institutions are responsible for identifying eligible student athletes.

All-Academic Team honors are bestowed twice a year, at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters. Traditionally, the fall semester All-Academic Team includes only student athletes who compete in sports with a fall conference championship, and the spring team includes only those who compete in sports with winter or spring conference championships. For the 2020-21 academic year, however, student athletes on all NAC-sponsored sport rosters are eligible for both fall and spring recognition due to unconventional NCAA seasons.

The SUNY Canton baseball team led all sports with 12 student-athletes recognized followed by women’s soccer (10), men’s soccer (8), men’s basketball (7), men’s golf (6), softball (6), men’s lacrosse (4), women’s cross country (4), women’s basketball (3), women’s lacrosse (3), women’s volleyball (3), and men’s cross country (2).

The Roos had two two-sport athletes recognized in Samantha Dayter (women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse) and Zack LaFave (men’s golf, men’s lacrosse).

Below you can see a list of all of SUNY Canton’s award winners by sport including each individuals class year, major and hometown.
