Ausable Answers Fast Start By Lisbon Boys

AUSABLE - Lisbon opened a 15-10 lead at the end of one quarter of Saturday's nonleague game at Ausable Valley of Section 7.

But the host Patriots answered with a 46-26 surge over the next two quarters and cruised to a 72-54 win and a sweep of the home and home series between the two teams.

"We played a great first quarter but Ausable ruled the boards," said Lisbon Coach Bob Jordan.

Eli Douglas and Carter Matzel combined for 17 and 10 points to lead the winners and Evan Snow netted 10. Snow buried two 3s in the second quarter and Garcia struck for two treys in the third quarter.

Kaiden Mussen scored 17 points to lead a Lisbon (11-6) offense which featured four double figure scorers. Alex Martin, Karter Jordan and Tegan Jordan all tallied 10 points. Jackson LaRock and Ethan Martin added four and three points. River Hanf contributed six points the Ausable Valley (10-5) offense.

Lisbon will return to NAC West Division play hosting Hermon-DeKalb on Thursday in a key game for both teams.

In NAC games on Saturday Malone nipped Massena 65-64 in the Central Division and East Division action saw Norwood-Norfolk downed Brushton-Moira 70-51 and Tupper Lake bested St. Regis Falls 56-43. In Girls action N-N downed B-M 57-29.
