Berg Records Emotional First Ace On "Dad's Hole"
BY DAVE SHEA
The ninth hole was the only hole which not include a prize in Saturday's Ogdensburg Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament at the St. Lawrence State Park.
But as far as Kris Berg was concerned it was a perfect time to record his first hole in one ever.
The long hitting Berg aced the 120 yard hole with his 54 degree approach wedge on what he referred do as "dad's hole."
His dad, Bob Berg who passed away last summer, recorded three holes in one on the ninth hole.
"It was very emotional," said Kris Berg who used the ace to anchor a first place 13-under-par performance by his foursome which also included Chuck Ladouceur, Ken Johnson and Jeff Hooper.
