Big Fourth Inning Lifts Road Runner Past South Jeff

The North Country Road Runners downed the South Jefferson Blazers in 18U Baseball action on Monday.

Thew Road Runners scored 6 runs in the fourth inning to break open a 2 to 2 tie. Gabe Wainwright, Jared Wilson, Jed Crayford and Nate Mashaw all had hits in the inning. Crayford, Wilson and Bryce lake pitched well in a combined 8-hitter. Matt Basford picked up the save pitching a scoreless seventh inning.

"That was another nice win for us. Saturday we play a very good Clinton County Mariners team. We are looking forward to it," said Road Runners Coach John Free.

"The Road Runners host the Mariners in a doubleheader in Gouverneur at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Note: The Lisbon Recreation 18U game scheduled for tonight has been postponed because of the rain.
