Black Lake Fish-Game Club Ice Fishing Derby Set Jan. 30
Rich Rupert, the Director of the Black Fish and Game Club Ice fishing derby, is asking sportsmen to put Jan. 30, 2021 on their ice fishing calendar.
The derby will be offering three separate stations all offering cash prizes and a $500 grand prize. The derby will be luck of the draw with fish being measured instead of weighed. They must be 24 inches if catch and release and 26 inches to enter if the angler wants to keep it.
Check stations for the derby will be on the ice at Chapman's, Roll Away and the Yellow Barns. There will not be a check station at the club for people who are fishing elsewhere. They can however bring their fish to one of the three on ice check stations. Each station is offering a $500 Grand Prize, a $200 cash prize for an adult, a $100cash prize for a kid, a $50 cash prize for a kid and $100 for the biggest fish entered at that station caught from Black Lake.
That is three mini derbies with the grand prize of $500 and all prizes being given away as fish are brought in and at the conclusion of the derby on the ice at the check stations. The format will be catch a fish and win a prize until all prizes except the cash prizes are given away with one prize per entry.
The raffle this year will feature two prizes: a $500 gift certificate to Whitton's Gun Shop or a full ice fishing setup which includes a shack, power auger tip ups and heater sled!.
"We are looking forward to a great event and if anyone would like to sponsor any of the cash prizes or make a donation of prizes that would be greatly appreciated and your business will be promoted during the derby," said Derby Director Rich Rupert who has been very happy the way area businesses have stepped forward all ready."
"The Black Lake fishing derby is the biggest fundraiser that the club hosts and all help is appreciated. We are working really hard to make this a socially distanced event and continue to be one of the largest and best ice fishing derbies in the region with cash prizes of almost $3000. This year."
