Boater Safety Course Offered On Line


Earn your Boating Safety Certificate and Card with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary by completing four, two-hour sessions on line. Join a class by calling the Auxiliary at 315-605-8041, or

New York State will require all power boat operators, (who must be a minimum of 10 years of age) to complete a boating safety course per the following schedule. All personal watercraft (jet ski) operators regardless of age and a minimum of 14 years of age must complete a boating safety course.

Born after Jan. 1, 1993 you will need a boating safety certificate in 2020.

Born after Jan. 1, 1988 you will need a boating safety certificate in 2022.

Born after Jan. 1, 1983 you will need a boating safety certificate in 2023.

Born after Jan. 1, 1978 you will need a boating safety certificate in 2024.

All operators of motorized vessels, regardless of age, will need a boating safety certificate by January 1, 2025.

Course study materials will be mailed to you prior to the start of the course.
