Bushey, Crew Ready To Open Racing Season

BY STEVE HEATON

LAFARGEVILLE - Heuvelton's Tyler Bushey will have to wait a little longer to race at one of his favorite tracks, the Brockville Ontario Speedway, in 2020 because of travel restrictions because of the COVID-19 pandemic on travel to Canada But the members of the X-15 Crew will make their 2020 debut tonight, Friday June 5, weather permitting at Can-Am Speedway in LaFargeville when the green light turns to go. "Its been a long winter and spring," stated the Bushey from X15 Headquarters at Frank Bice's garage in Depeyster where Bushey's crew (Aaron Bice, Frank Bice, Roger Bushey, John Bushey) was making adjustments to the weight and specs of his Chevy setup Pro Stock car. Bushey ran limited last season at Can Am, Corwwall, The BOS, and Mohawk International Raceway after several successful Street Stock Division seasons in Brockville. With racing halted at local tracks because of COVID-19, Bushey and many of his competitors took to IRL racing - video fashion - which attracted some NASCAR drivers into the picture because their season was also put on hold. "It was kind of fun but nothing like getting out and doing the real thing," said Bushey.

"I am really looking forward to getting back out there. I won a few raffles for some parts and me and my teammates are looking forward to putting them to use." "And I just want to give plug for my sponsors this season including Stout's Ready Mix of Brier Hill, Royal J. Acres of Heuvelton,Horseshoe Ridge Maples of Heuvelton, Cash Montroy Garage of Heuvelton Monroe Muffler and Brake, Leo's Diner of Heuvelton, Kench's Ice Cream of Ogdensburg, JP Building Supply of Heuvelton, Mowing Goat Lawncare, TRW Contracting, Misfits Designs, Matheson Metals of Heuvelton, Peacemaker 420 of Tyendinaga Ontario, Kench's Boat Hauling, Jackson's Deli of Heuvelton and Custom Rustix of Ogdensburg. C&M Kwik Lube and Repairs of Heuvelton, and Johnston's H2Zone of Massena. Without their support racing wouldn't be possible." With auto racing finally getting the green flag to hold racing events, without fans, the Can-Am Speedway is gearing up for what should be a great opener to the 2020 season. Charlie Caprara and FX Caprara Honda, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Kia have stepped up to sponsor this Friday's four division show. Joining FX Caprara will be North Star Realty as title sponsors. Adding to the sponsor list will be DIG Race Products who will sponsor the fast time award for both the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds and DIRTcar Sportsman divisions.

The DIRTcar Sportsman B-Main will be sponsored by the Northeast Racing Products Auction and Trade Show. A special thanks to St. Lawrence Radiology for their support of the Can-Am Speedway and the 2020 opener. Racing begins at 7 pm featuring the Whitesboro DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, the FX Caprara Honda DIRTcar Sportsman, the FABCO DIRTcar Pro Stocks, and the TLC Real Estate Owner/Broker Marsha Gibbons Thunderstocks. Over 100 cars have pre-entered for Friday's event and more are expected by race day.
