C-P Sweeps Interdivision Soccer Action

The Colton-Pierrepont Girls and Boys Soccer team swept NAC interdivision wins over NAC West opponents at Potsdam Central School on Saturday.
In the girls game C-P downed Heuvelton 1-0 and in boys soccer action the Cokts downed blanked Hermon-DeKalb 3-0.
In the Girls Game the teams were well balanced seven shots on goal. With 33 seconds remaining in the second overtime, Colton-Pierrepont's s Alexis Cuthbert was left undefended at the 25. She struck a low shot which short hopped the goalie and skipped into the net. Goaltender Natalie Butterfield maintained a clean sheet.
In boys action Saturday, Colton-Pierrepont’s (6-5) Timmy Farns scored all three goals to earn a win over Hermon-DeKalb (3-6). C-P had 11 shots on goals with HD putting 4 on net. Aiden Knight in net earned the shutout with 3 saves
Farns scored five minutes into the game assisted by Logan Burns and then scored twice in the second half unassisted. Andrew Matthews of H-D finished with 16 saves.
In another girls game Hermon-DeKalb dropped an 8-0 decision to South Jefferson.
"A different level of the game for sure," said H-D Coach Erin Green speaking of the strength of the South Jefferson squad.
