Canton Girls Win Central Showdown Vs Malone

A meeting of NAC Central Softball leaders did not disappoint as Canton gained a 6-2 victory over Malone on Thursday.

The Golden Bears prevailed over a 14-strikeout six hitter by Malone pitcher Ryleigh McCauley behind Hadley Alguire who struck out five in a seven-hitter.

McCauley also hit a two-run homerun in the fifth inning of the game where the Bears received two singles from Natalie Warner and other timely singles from Brooke Larrabee, Emily Wentworth, Cate DeCoteau and Hadley Alguire who scored three times.

"Our baserunning and solid defense won that game. McCauley was tough on the mound so we had to really create some runs. Hadley Alguire pitched a very gutsy game."

Alayna Dumas singled twice for Malone and Dumas, Bonville and Perras all added one hit.
