Canton, Massena, B-M Win In NAC Baseball
Canton notched a second straight quality NAC Central win while Massena continued to receive mound gems and Bruston-Moira downed Norwood-Norfolk in Saturday's NAC Baseball action.
Canton 8 - Salmon River 7: The Golden Bears scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to hand Salmon River its first loss at 2-1. The Bears started the inning with five straight batters who reached safely, taking advantage of two stolen bases, a hit batter and three errors to tie. Nathaniel Romano lifted a sacrifice fly to centerfield to plate Erich Zuhlsdorf with the game-winning walk-off run.
Colby Young delivered three hits and an RBI to lead Canton and singled home a run in the seventh and Lane Rayburn singled twice. Tanner Hazelton picked up the win in relief and singled along with Sam Roiger.
Donovan Lauzon doubled, tripled and scored a run to lead the Shamrocks.
Massena 14 - Malone 1: Zack Monacelli struck out 14 in a five-inning two-hitter. Malone scored its lone run on back-to-back doubles by Jordan Perry and Dominic St. Hilaire in the fourth inning. Monacelli also delivered three singles, Chris Paige had a single, double and scored three runs and David Dubray singled and doubled.
B-M 12 - N-N 1: Dawson White struck out nine in a three-hitter as the Panthers (4-0) took the East Division lead. Justin Kennedy, Ken Supernault, Ajay Martin and Lucas Bushey all had hits in a 10-run fourth inning for B-M.
