Carthage Advances To State Class A Title Game

CICERO - The Carthage vs Canandaigua New York State Class A semi-final game at Cicero-North Syracuse opened with a defensive gym as the Braves returned a Comet aerial to the endzone. Then the Carthage defense took the big play stage and forced seven turnovers in a 16-6 victory to advance to the New York State Championship Championship against Section 9 champion Cornwall at 3 p.m. Friday in the Carrier Dome, where they’ve already won twice this season.

Fombo Azah scored on a 23-yard run in the second quarter and the Comets scored their second TD on return of a blocked punt.
