Chateaugay Downs M-W, SLC Blanks Salmon River

Avery McDonald pitched six strong innings of relief and Chateaugay broke loose for seven runs in the first inning of a 13-6 win of Madrid-Waddington in NAC East Softball action on Saturday. In over NAC Central game St. Lawrence Central blanked Salmon River 15-0.
Chateaugay 13 - M-W 6: Cammi Champagne lined two doubles and a single and drove in two runs to lead Chateaugay and Lacey Sullivan supplied two singles, a double and five RBIs for M-W.
Chloe Champagne singled three times and stole five bases and Rebekah Miller also singled three times for the Bulldogs. Vicki Tatro doubled and singled and Ali Johnston (2 RBIs) and Avery McDonald (4 stolen bases) each singled twice. Kaelyn Morgan added a single.
Basford singled twice and scored three runs for M-W and Caleigh Burke singled and scored three runs. Alaina Armstrong singled twice and Reese Fuller singled.
"We did a nice job getting on base today. We hit the ball well and worked some walks. We were aggressive on the bases as well. We came out a little sloppy, but we were able to settle in defensively." said Chateaugay Coach Jason LaPlante.
SLC 15 - Salmon River 0: Annica Ramsdell pitched am one-hit shutout and McKenna Bowles lined four singles to lead the winning offense. Hannah Agans and Rebecca Nezezon singled twice for the Larries and Rylie Daoust doubled. Brionna Foster, Rachel Major, Lindsy Phippen and Hannah Henry all singled.
Mia Leroux singled for the lone Salmon River hit.
