CHMC Auxiliary Seeks Socks Donations For Needy

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary "Operation Sock It To Me" Community Outreach Program NEEDS YOUR HELP to achieve our goal of 1900 pairs of new socks!

We currently have approximately 600 pairs. We need 1300 pairs or more to meet our goal so we are extending our collection date a couple of weeks. The drop boxes are located in the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Lobby, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Cornerstone Cafe as well as Price Chopper in Ogdensburg.

Not able to drop off your donations? Please call Ramona or Allyson at 315-393-1559 and they will make arrangements for a pick up.

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary is proud to sponsor our 6th Annual Operation Sock-It-To-Me community outreach project September 1st through September 30th as a way of ensuring that all area families, especially the children, have warm feet this winter.

Going without socks or having to wear worn out socks leads to a multitude of foot conditions some of which are: athletes foot, calluses, persistent fungus, blisters, chafed skin, cracked skin, infections, foot pain and worst of all trench foot. Socks also absorb perspiration from the feet which helps to prevent embarrassing odor.

We appreciate everyone who supports us by providing socks or funds that sustain our community outreach project. We could NOT do what we do without the generosity of others.

Mission Statement of the CHMC Auxiliary is to support the Medical Center community through volunteerism, advocacy and fundraising. For more information on becoming a member of the CHMC Auxiliary, please contact CHMC Auxiliary Liaison Ramona Kennedy at 315-393-1559 or email her at
