Clarkson Earns Share Of ECAC Lead Downing Bobcats
Clarkson was able to break out offensively and get a regulation win to end the season series with Quinnipiac. The 4-2 win gives the Knights (8-6-3) 17 league points and a share of first place with Quinnipiac.
Clarkson went down a goal when Ty Smilanic scored for the Bobcats (10-4-3) at 10:51 in the first. Clarkson bounced back quickly at 14:39 when Grant Cooper got his 8th of the season from Callin and Tsekos. The Knights took the lead for good when Michael Underwood scored at 17:06 of the first.
In the second period the Knights struck twice, at 2:17 Anthony Romano got a great feed from Jack Jacome to put the Knights up 3-1 and then on the 5x3 power play Anthony Callin scored to make it 4-1 after two.
The Bobcats drew within 2 with a goal from van Nes, but were not able to get any closer as Ethan Haider shut the door late. Haider finished with 37 saves. Clarkson scored 2 on 7 power play chances, and killed off 3 of 4 chances for the Bobcats.
Next up the Knights will have a weekend off and then host Colgate on Thursday Feb. 4th.
