Action Close In OBGC Touch Football Leagues


High scoring action abounded in both divisions of the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club Touch Football program in the past week.

Clemson handed Miami its first loss in the Elementar League and the Cowboys and the Redskins won the Senior League openers.

Tuesdays Games

Game 1: Clemson 98 – Miami 91

A last second touchdown by William LaFlair secured the win for Clemson that also moved them into 1st place in the OBGC Touch Football League. Laflair finished with four touchdowns followed by Blake Ashley with three who also played the quarterback position a couple times and had a few nice runs up the field. Isiah Warner and Blake Woods scored twice and Callan Ashley finished the scoring for the Tigers with a touchdown. Jack Morley and Lucca LaBella scored three times each for Miami. Kaden Pray & Brody Barrett found the endzone twice and JP Decker, Connor Small and Lance LaRose all added a score as well.

Game 2: Virginia 84 – Clemson 77

As time expired in the second half Owen Rose caught the game winning touchdown to give the Cavaliers their first win of the season. The offense for Virginia was led by the trio of Rider brothers, Cormac had three touchdowns, Caelum followed with two and Chase added one. Also scoring for Virginia was Noah White with two touchdowns and Gavin Moran, Kayle St. Germain, Adam Rose and Harmony Pray all adding one. London Davock was the offensive spark for Syracuse scoring four touchdowns and Jackson Thornhill had a great game himself adding three touchdowns. Cruz O’Brien, JJ Richey and Leland Lennox all added scores.

Thursdays Games

Game 3: Virginia 119 – Clemson 112

In a high scoring battle Virginia was able to hang on and win the game earning them their second straight win on the season. Chase Rider exploded for six touchdowns followed by Ian Rose with three who also played tough defense. Caelum Rider added three touchdowns, Harmony Pray added two and Gavin Moran also added two. Owen and Adam Rose each added one for Virginia. Clemson was led by William LaFlair with five touchdowns and Blake Ashley followed with four. Blake Woods, Callan Ashley, Aiden McLean and Isiah Warner all found the endzone for the Tigers.

Game 4: Miami 105 – Syracuse 98

Miami was able to hold off for the win in a thrilling end to the second game. Brody Barrett led Miami with four touchdowns followed by Jack Morley with three. Liam Coen and JP Decker also each found the endzone twice. Lucca LaBella, Connor Small and Jacob Howe all added a score for Miami. Syracuse came up just a little short as time expired and the last second pass was tipped in the endzone. Trenton Johnson had a great offensive game catching many passes and scoring four touchdowns. Frank Bar and Colt O’Brien both had three touchdowns. Cam Javier, Julia Ives, Cruz O’Brien and London Davock all added one for Syracuse.

SENIOR LEAGUE

Wednesdays Games

Game 1: Cowboys 56 – Eagles 49

In the first game of the 2019 OBGC Senior Football League MeSean Johnson and Tyler George led the charge to help the Cowboys pick up the victory. The duo alternated at quarterback and was responsible for six of the eight touchdowns scored. Also scoring in their first senior league game was Nate Sholette and Trey Thompson. Trent Sargent

threw seven touchdown passes for the Eagles with four of them to Steven Javier. Marco Skamperle, Nicholi Ramsdell

and Ian Rose all found the endzone as well.

Game 2: Redskins 93 – Giants 35

The Redskins were able to score early and often in the second game of the night, which saw a shorthanded Giants team due to illness. Brogan Larose played well on both sides of the ball for the Redskins scoring three touchdowns and also making three interceptions. Garrett LaRock played well at the quarterback position scoring two touchdowns of his own and throwing four touchdown passes to Justin Weeger, who also had an interception in the

game. Carson Ramie added three touchdowns and Austin Thornhill picked up a quick safety on the Giants early on.

Steven Javier came in the second half to help out the Giants and picked up two touchdowns and an interception. Bryce

Redmond, Nick Davison and Jayden Rivers all scored to help the Giants. Hope Pratt picked up an interception as well
