OGDENSBURG -- Team CGSW Racing plans to raise $5,000 for the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center through the Claxton Hepburn Foundation.

Money will be raised by members of the team who compete in various endurance races while raising money for, and bringing awareness to, routine cancer screenings.

Team CGSW Racing was formed with two goals in mind: get the North Country moving and give back to the community, according to a CHMC Foundation press release.

All donations collected by Team CGSW Racing will be given back to the cancer center in Ogdensburg. Gifts will then be used to help pay for cancer screenings, as well as support transportation for patients currently undergoing treatment.

To date, Team CGSW has raised almost $1,300 towards their $5,000 goal.

In celebration of this landmark, Team CGSW members Jordan Pederson, Connor Sutton, and Josh Caruso presented Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center President & CEO Chuck Gijanto with a Team CGSW shirt.
