Currier's, Woody's Win Women's Softball Playoff Openers

Currier's and Woody's won the opening games of the Ogdensburg Women's Softball League Playoffs on Wednesday. Currier's rallied past The Place 11-8 and Woody's Blanked Ogdensburg Bowl 16-0.

Woody's will meet top-seeded Doug's Tavern and Woody's will face second seeded Howie's on Monday in the double elimination tournament while The Place and Ogdensburg Bowl move into playback brackett.

The tournament will conclude on Aug. 11 at Peg LaVigne Field with games at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. if needed.

Woody's 16 Ogd Bowl 0: Kristi DeDekker drilled two singles and a double and Brittany Kenyon and Jessica Mitchell doubled and singled to lead Woody's. Avery Kenyon and Sara Simpson singled twice and Lori Garno, Austie Claxton and Angie Caufield all added singles to the victory.

Krysten Snyder singled twice for the Bowl and Liv Roberts singled.

Currier's 11 - Place 8: Ashley Currier rapped a homerun and two singles and Kendra Moran doubled and singled to lead Currier's which scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning. Other hitting contributions came from: Kareen Bedford (single), Meb Campbell (single), Kirt Bleau (single), Dawn Given (single), Pam Salerno (single) and Bard Miller (single).

Jamie Legault and Randi Legault both singled twice for The Place, Maddi Bresett singled twice and Nicole Kennedy doubled. Jill Lincoln, Sierra Dobbs, Jocelyn Fifield, Sharon Reed and Brielle McKee all added singles.
