Don Petty Tournament Award Winners

Host Canton won the Varsity and Junior Varsity Championships at the Don Petty Memorial Girls Basketball Tournament on Saturday. Players on all four teams received individual awards.

The combination of Sarah Sieminski and Katie Chisholm combined for eight 3-pointers and 33 points leading host Canton to a 60-45 win over Peru in the championship game of Don Petty Memorial Girls Basketball Tournament on Saturday. Chisholm buried five 3s scoring 18 points and Sieminski netted three treys in a 15-point effort for the undefeated Bears who gained a 34-21 advantage in the second and third quarters.

Gretchen Warner and Lexi Huiatt each scored eight points for the Bears, Matti Hoy tallied seven and Ester Shipman and Mary Lobdell each added two.

Kathy McCarthy led Peru with 16 points.

Host Canton won the Varsity Championship of the Don Petty Memorial Tournament in impressive fashion. Members of the team coached by Jim DiSalvo and Randy Sieminski are: Katie Chisholm, Sarah Sieminski, Gretchen Warner, Maddie Hoy, Jill Disalvo, Hannah Reed, Kelsea Whittier, Ester Shipman, Hailee Duvall, Lexi Huiatt, Emily Wentworth, Abby Deny, Mary Lobdell and Sophie Ladouceur.

The Canton Central JVs won the championship of the Don Petty Memorial Tournament. Members of the team coached by Mike Wentworth are: Camryn Sipher, Ava Hoy, Alyssa Jacob, Lindsey Filiatrault, Courtney Peters, Olivia Sero, Mattigan Porter, Phoebe, Jaskowski, Hadley Alguire, Wyatt Newman, Amelia Rodee and Kayla Larrabee.
