Donations Sought As Kelly Memorial Vision Takes Shape

The Charles W. Kelly Memorial Park Committee is launching a community-wide fundraising campaign to erect a suitable memorial at the former Hamilton Street Park.

The committee is working with landscape architect, Edward M. Basta, to develop a fitting monument that would be located across from St. Mary’s Cathedral, not far from where Mr. Kelly lived.

As part of the committee’s effort, they are asking for contributions in memory of a North Country citizen who spent his life demonstrating how dedicated volunteers can make a difference in the life of a community.

Donations can be sent to:

The Ogdensburg Moose Lodge has joined the community support for the Charles W. Kelly Park Memorial. The Moose donated $1000 to the effort to finance the building of the memorial across from St. Mary's Cathedral in what was formerly known as Hamilton Park. Charles W. Kelly Park Committee member Dave Shea (second from right) accepts the donation from Moose Lodge officers from left Administrator Brian Mitchell, Inner Guard John St. Joseph, Governor Bill Bromley and Junior Governor Ron Johnson.
