Mike Brashaw of Ed-Med Federal Credit Union presents check to Tom Luckie Jr. and Andy Manke

When Mike Brashaw, Manager of the Ed-Med Federal Credit Union on Ford Street saw that the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club Expo had been canceled he took action.  As a club alumnus he wanted to help so he applied for a grant with the Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union and Alloya Cares which made $1,000,000 available to their member credit unions with the funds intended to help local communities during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Last week, Mr. Brashaw was notified that the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club has been awarded a $5000 grant from the program.

"We are so thankful to Mike, all our friends at Ed-Med and Alloya Cares for supporting the club and our youth.  Mike is one of many alumni that has stepped up during this crisis.  We will use the funds to help offset our Expo losses and to continue to help local youth with meals, groceries, sanitary products and other items for as long as possible," stated Thomas Luckie, OBGC Executive Director.
