Ewart, Fishing Partner Place Second In Armed Forces Big Bass Fund-Raiser

Ogdensburg angler Larry Ewart enjoyed a strong showing at the Armed Forces Big Bass Bass Tournament on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire on July 6. Ewart fished with a friend from his military service, Gary Hayward, in the event which was a fund raiser for all military branches for medical services needs.
It was a 3 bass limit event with hourly pay outs for big bass-every hour paid down 3 places for 7 hourly -weigh ins paying -$500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third.
Top 10 places were paid out at 1st place $2500, 2nd $1000, 3rd $500, 4th $250, 5th $200 and 6th-10th $150.00.
There was a $1000 bonus for over all Big Bass and over $5000 was raised at the event.
Ewart took on hour two with a 5 lb 9 oz. smallmouth on a Atomic E-Baits spinner bait-double willow gold blades and diamond dust skirt on a Phenom 7’ medium action rodd by Enigma
On Hour three his fishing partner Gary Hayward took third place with a 3 lb 7 oz. small mouth on a Atomic trick stix 5.25” in blueberry color with a Phenom rod7’ medium action by Enigma.
Ewart led hour five with a 4 lb 10 oz. largemouth on a slither rig in watermelon red skirt and Atomic flipping tube on a 7’3” IPPON heavy action rod from Enigma.
Ewart and his partner three bass total was 13lb 10oz. for a second place finish out of 79 teams
