Fifth Annual Tooley Pond Waterfall Walk Set Sunday
Adirondack Naturalist Peter O'Shea and the St. Lawrence Land Trust will lead a family friendly tour of waterfalls on Tooley Pond Road on Sunday October 13th, just in time for the last of the fall foliage.
Participants should meet at the ADK Park sign on the western end of the Tooley Pond Rd. at 9 a.m. (about 1.5 miles up the road from Degrasse), The tour should be about 3 hours total. Participants will explore four different waterfalls along the road (see photo).
The tour is a mix of drives along paved and gravel roads and short, easy walks to the waterfalls. Note, however that though the trails are short, they can be steep in places; short stretches of some trails may be challenging for the mobility impaired. Families are most welcome, but strollers will be difficult for some of the falls. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes, and bring water.
