Fitch, Routledge Named Roos Of Week

– Andrew Fitch, a junior on the men’s basketball team, and Max Routledge, a sophomore on the men’s hockey team, have been named this week’s Roos of the Week.
Fitch averaged 15.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 1.0 assist per game in a 1-1 week last week for the Roos. He opened the week with a team-high14 points, and game-highs of 10 rebounds and five blocks in an 88-74 road win at Paul Smith’s College. The junior followed that up with a team-best 16 points to go with seven rebounds and three blocks in a loss to No. 13 nationally-ranked Middlebury College. Fitch finished the week shooting 68.4 percent (13-for-19) from the floor and 75 percent (3-for-4) from three-point range.
Routledge recorded two goals and an assist as the men’s hockey team split a home-and-home weekend series with Skidmore College, a team receiving votes in the latest USHCO Top 15 Poll. The sophomore scored a pair of goals in Friday’s 3-2 win on the road. After giving Canton a 2-1 lead at 8:04 of the second period he scored the game-winner 29 seconds into the third period. Routledge added an assist on Canton’s fourth goal on Saturday night to get the team within a goal with just more than five minutes to play. Routledge now ranks second on the team with three goals and tied for first with two power play tallies.
