Giguere Sets Scoring Record In CU Barrage Vs LIU

Clarkson's Elizabeth Giguere became Clarkson's all time leading scorer when she collected an assist, and her 214th career point, on Gabrielle David's opening goal.

Giguere and the Knights broke out for an astounding 78 shot attempts of which 50 went on net. Clarkson had goals from 5 different skaters, including from the McQuigge sisters.

David opened the scoring at the 15:17 mark of the first period on the power play. Then LIU answered back with a power play goal of their own at 17:55 of the first.

The Knights broke the tie early in the second, when Kirstyn McGuigge redirected a centering feed from Kristy Pidgeon and netted her first career goal in her first game as a Golden Knight. Capitan, Meaghan Hector also assisted on the goal in her first game of the season. Not to be outdone, the older McQuigge, Brooke, scored at 5:16 to put the Knights up 3-1. Kristy Pidgeon would add another at the 6:48 mark of the period and the Knights lead 4-1 going into the final period.

The lone goal in the third came from Giguere, her 5th on the season and 93rd of her career.

Marie-Pier Coulombe made 8 saves on the night in net for Clarkson.

Clarkson will face LIU again tomorrow for a 3:00 pm start.
