Gouverneur Rolls To 2-0 Football Start At Malone

MALONE - Defending NAC Football Champion Gouverneur recorded its second straight explosive win of the 2019 season downing Malone 50-6 at Crowner Field on Saturday.

Brady Sweet produced Malone's lone touchdown on a 4-yd pass from Payton Poirier on the last play of the game.

Gouverneur got on the board early on a 28-yard run by Joseph Cummings at 8:33 of the first quarter and pulled away in the second quarter as quarterback Caleb Farr, who scored on keepers of 1, 1 and 9 yards on the day, threw a 46-yard touchdown pass top Kyle Savage. Mitch Tyler scored on a 28-yard run and led Gouverneur's offense by committee effort by rushing for 123 yards on 12 carries. Jacob Shippee added a 2 yard scoring run for the Wildcats.
