H-D Holds Off Lisbon Rally: E-K Tops Harrisville

Hermon-DeKalb struck for six runs in the second inning and then used four hit efforts from winning pitcher Bri Grant and Olivia Sharpe to hold off some concerted comeback efforts by Lisbon in an NAC West Girls Softball game on Monday.

The Knights scored five runs in the sixth inning but H-D hung tough for a 14-11 victory.

In one other NAC West game Edwards-Knox downed Harrisville 12-5.

H-D 14- Lisbon 11: Bri Grant ripped a triple and three singles and Olivia Sharpe tripled and singled three times to lead H-D.

"We just didn't make the some plays we had to make to make the in the second inning but after that we played well defensively," said Lisbon Coach Dicky Marcellus.

"We have a young team and we have to keep making adjustments."

A solid team hitting effort for H-D also included two singles from Nolan, Rylie Hale, Audri Tehonica, Abby French and Sierra Riley and a singe by Hannah Gollinger.

Rachel LaRock singled twice for Lisbon and Erika Snyder, Ava Buchey, Eliza McClear, Gabby Taylor and Anna Hoffman all added timely singles.

E-K 12 - Harrisville 5: Decota Matthews and Cadey Wheat combined to pitch E-K pas Harrisville which received two doubles and a homerun from Toir Moore and two doubles by Amy Manchester. Hailey Mathews rapped a double and two singles for E-K and Wheat singled twice.
