H-D Rides Second Half Goals Past E-K; SLC Wins
RUSSELL - For the second time in two days Hermon-DeKalb scored three goals in just over 10 minutes to gain an NAC West Boys Soccer come-from-behind victory on Wednesday.
And for the second time in two days Randy Durham played the catalyst role passing out two assists as the Green Demons downed Edwards-Knox 3-1.
Durham assisted on two goals as the Demons (4-3-1) scored three times in just over 10 minutes in the second half after Avery Whitford gave E-K (3-2-1) a 1-0 halftime lead with an unassisted goal.
Kevin Joj tied the score in the third minute of the second half unassisted and Durham set up Jay Carrow for an equalizer ninth minute. The game-winner came in the 12th minute with Payton Hamilton connecting off an assist from Durham,
Andrew Matthews finished with six saves preserving the win and Andrew Franklin finished with five stops for E-K.
In one East Division game on Wednesday St. Lawrence Central outscored Norwood-Norfolk 3-2.
ST. LAWRENCE CENTRAL 3 - NORWOOD-NORFOLK 2 Connor Foster netted a 40-yard direct kick with the with 3:18 to play as the Larries (5-6-0) answered an N-N (3-2-1) rally which wiped out a 2-0 deficit. SLC took the lead on an unassisted goal by Hayden Perkins in the ninth minute and a Charlie Dow goal off a Kolbie Converse assist in the 13th minute.
The Flyers pulled even at the half with goals by Hayden Bullock from Josh Hargnett and Ryan Emlaw from Reed. Tommy Storrin posted eight saves for SLC and Noah Dominy stopped five chances for N-N.
