H-D Soccer Teams Look For Solid Seasons

DEKALB JUNCTION - The ability of young players and veterans to provide leadership will hold the key to the fortunes of the Hermon-DeKalb Boys and Girls Soccer teams.


"We are young, having a roster dominated by sophomores but I think we will be competitive as lot of the sophomores saw significant playing time time as freshmen," said Coach Marty Amo.

The Demons went 1-11 in the NAC West this season and are hopeful that a fast start will wipe away the frustrating memories of 2018. H-D opens its season with a nonleague game against South Lewis on Saturday.

First year coach Erin Green will look to six seniors to lead the Lady Devils who are looking to better last year's 3-10-record in the NAC West. "The HD lady demons are excited and working hard on setting goals and achieving them. We have six returning seniors and have welcomed a foreign exchange student from France. This groups of ladies are pushing themselves to grow both individually and as a team of passionate soccer players," said Coach Green.
