Hansen, LaFrance Lead Roos' Volleyball In Two Matches

Marcy, NY – Skye Hansen and Tatum Lafrance finished with 16 kills each on the day, but the SUNY Canton women’s volleyball team dropped a pair of matches 3-1 and 3-0 at SUNY Poly on Sunday afternoon.


  • SUNY Poly won the first two sets of the opening match 25-20 and 25-21. The Roos bounced back with a convincing 25-12 victory in the third set before the Wildcats closed out the match 25-17 in the fourth frame.

  • The Roos hit .130 on 108 attack attempts (35 kills, 21 errors), while the Wildcats had a .240 attack percentage on 129 attempts (51 kills, 20 errors).

  • Lafrance led the Canton attack with 12 kills and added 14 digs and six service aces. Hansen supplied seven kills and Gabrielle Durant added six.

  • Sydney Uthe finished with a match-best 17 digs, while Kay Carlson added 10. Bailey Nadeau chipped in 12 assists and three aces, while Michaella DeCapua dished out a team-high 16 assists.

  • Makayla Hulett led the hosts with 15 kills, while Karlie King finished with 14 kills and 15 digs.


  • The opening set was an extremely tight game. The Roos led 19-15 but four straight points from the Wildcats tied things up. With the frame tied at 23 apiece the hosts closed out a 25-23 win after a Roos service error and a SUNY Poly ace.

  • The Wildcats finished off the second match in straight sets, 25-16 and 25-18 to earn the Sunday sweep.

  • Hansen paced Canton with nine kills, while Alexis Price, Durant and Lafrance provided four kills each. Price finished with an impressive .429 hitting percentage on seven attempts (4 kills, one error).

  • Uthe and Peyton Nadeau recorded seven digs each, while DeCapua and Laura Clements tallied 14 and nine assists, respectively.

  • Hulett led all players with 10 kills for the Wildcats.

WHAT'S NEXT The Roos return to action on Saturday when they visit SUNY Cobleskill for a pair of matches at 12 p.m.
