Harrisville Girls Ride Scoring Balance

MORIA - Torie Moore scored 10 of her game-high 18 in the second quarter as Harrisville gained a 66-34 win over Brushton-Moira in an NAC Interdivision Girls Basketball on Monday. Hannah LaPlatney and Harlie Moore each scored 15 points for the Pirates and Amy Manchester and Bayleigh Spencer followed with six and five points.

Other points for the Pirates came from: Chloe Benson, Guillianna Ialrocien (3) and Ting Chen (2).

"We had a balanced offense with three girls in double figures Torie Moore 18, Hannah LaPlatney 15 and Harlie Moore 15. Our defense was our anchor again. We are improving but so is everyone else," said Harrisville Coach Scott Roberts after 5-2 Harrisville lifted their nonleague record to 4-0.

Emma Russell led B-M with 12 points and Natalie Palmer tallied five. Other scoring came from: Alyssa Poirier, Anne Martyin, Bailey Traynor (2), Emma Crump (1) and Kayley Phelan (4).

The Harrisville JV's secured a well-played 39-38 win.
