BY DAVE SHEA
Heuvelton was building momentum for a run at the Section 10 Class D title while Gouverneur was focused on attaining the school's first NAC Central Baseball title in 17 years in Thursday's action.

"Lucas Thornill pitched very well and his 11 strikeouts really helps the defense," said Heuvelton Coach Dave Steele.
The Bulldogs complete their division season against Morristown on Thursday and will play Potsdam in an interdivisional doubleheader on Tuesday.
Jordan Sawyer, Matt Basford (2 RBIs) and Nate Mashaw all singled twice for Heuvelton and Braeden Free rapped a run-scoring double. Jed Crayford, Adam Calton snd Jarred Martin added a single. Brandon Pray and Roger Premo both added RBIs.
For H-D, Brad Doer, and Peyton Hamilton had a single each, while Hamilton stole two bases and Doer scored one of the runs. Andrew Hamilton added a single to the H-D cause.
"Andrew Franklin pitched well for us and it was a scoreless game for three innings. But we made some mistakes and Heuvelton took advantage," said H-D Coach Michael Miller.
