Heuvelton Girls Look To Rebuild In Lax Around Veterans

HEUVELTON - Like so many Northern Conference coaches, Heuvelton Central's Becky Kelley

will be dealing with a great number of inexperienced and young players as the Lady Bulldogs Girls Lacrosse team hosts a first year varsity team in Plattsburgh High School on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Coach Stephanie Putney Field.

Senior Emma LaFaver on attack and juniors in attacker DaKota Mouthorp and midfielder Deanna Bellinger are the only Heuvelton players with varsity experience.

"We have a lot of girls who have never played lacrosse before and our returning players lost last season. It am sure it has really been tough on them but it is great to see the girls back on the field. Many of our new girls will be playing all over the field as they learn" said Coach Kelley.

"Our three returning players are good lacrosse players and good athletes. Sophomore Leanne Dietschweiler will be taking over the goaltending duties."

Deanna Bellinger (Jr MF), Caidence Durant (So A-D), Brielle McNamara (8th A), Ashleigh Calton (Fr MF), Ava Murphy (Fr MF), Raya McGaw (Fr MF), Kilee McCluskey (Fr A-D), Ashley Weston (Fr MF), Alivia Beach (So D), Dakota Mouthorp (Jr A), Hannah Dodd (Fr D), Leanne Dietschweiler (So G), Marina Perry (Fr A-D) and Emma LaFaver (Sr A).
