Hooper Stops 41 Shots In Debut Win With CP Dynamo

MARLBORO, MA - Ogdensburg's Kelson Hooper made his first start in goal for the CP Dynamo 18U Tier I Hockey team on Saturday in the BJB Shootout at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, MASS.

The game distinctly resembled Hooper's senior season at Ogdensburg Free Academy where he posted a .951 save percentage with a 1.39 goals against average as the Section 10 Division II MVP and First Team All-State selection. On his 18th birthday he stopped 41 shots anchoring a 3-2 win to deny very strong opponent in the Boston Jr. Bruins.

The Dynamo went 2-1 in the BJB Shootout is a team entry event for Jr., 18U, 16U and 15U teams. The Shootout is a showcase format which consistently draws well over 100 college and pro coaches and scouts and is one of best attended tournaments/showcases in New England

Daniel Guy played in goal for a Friday win and went the distance between the pipes in a 6-5 loss to the NJ Colonials on Sunday. Hooper is billeting with Daniel and his family in East Greenbush, NY.

The Dynamo will play in another Showcase Tournament in New Jersey this weekend.

CP Dynamo is a "tournament bound" USA Hockey organization at the Tier 1 level.  Based in Clifton Park, NY,  The Dynamo have four teams, 13U, 14U 16U and 18U and are proud members of the USPHL. The 13U and 14U teams play a very competitive schedule, while the 16U's play in the 16U division and the 18U's play in the 18U division of the USPHL. Using principles from USA Hockey's ADM and Hockey Canada's CDM the organization's staff work to develop and progress players skills, work ethic and discipline.  The Dynamo also field AAA tournament teams in the spring and summer. Those teams travel to play in the top tournaments against elite teams and players. The teams range from 13U-Junior levels. Since 2007, Dynamo has graduated over 25 players to D-1 and D-3 colleges, and over 40 players to various junior teams throughout North America. Behind our staff, the Dynamo have won a Tier 2 National Championship (2005), attended 6 National Championship Tournaments (04,05,09,10,11,14 Tier I), won 3 NY State Titles (09,11,14 Tier I).
