Jones Stands 52nd with 87 at World Junior Golf

MIAMI, Fla - Canton's Ryan Jones stood 52nd in a Boys 12-13 field of 103 with an opening round 87 at the Optimist International World Junior Golf Championship on Thursday. The tournament is being staged at the four courses of the Trump International at Doral and the golfers will play on the famed "Blue Monster" course today.

Joseph Dolezal and Uben Satiu shared the first round lead with three over par rounds of 75.

Jones, the son of Aaron and Paula Jones of Canton, will enter the eighth grade in the fall at Canton Central School. As a seventh grader he earned All-Northern Conference honors and played a lead role in Canton winning the NAC and Section 10 Division II championships.
