Jr. Bassmasters Enjoy Fine Season Opener

The Northern New York Junior Bassmasters Club opened its season with a fine day of fishing on Black Lake on Sundayt. Nice catches of largemouth bass highlighted the angling.

The club also received another sign of outstanding community support as the family of the late Freddie Badlam and Howland Pump and Supply made a donation so no fees will be charged to club members this season.

In the High School Club First Place went to Drew Piercey and Claire Murphy at 10.55 pounds, Second Place went to Jacob & Jed Farley 8.68 pounds and Third Place went to Matt Kinney and Tanner Ritchie at 6.98 pounds. In the Junior Club First Place went to Easton Losey and Liam Langstaff at 3.57 pounds, Second Place went to Kaleb and Mason Kiah at 3.40 pounds and Third Place went to Hunter Spriggs and James Wilson 1.48 pounds. The Lunker Awards donated by Hosmer’s Marina were: High School - Jordan Duprey 3.33 and in Junior - Club Liam Langstaff 3.57 pounds Sportsmanship awards donated by Hosmer’s Marina went to Jack Morley and Owen Kennedy.
