Knights Gain Convincing Rebound 5-1 Victory
The Clarkson Golden Knights rebounded for a convincing 5-1 win thanks to Power Play goals from Jack Jacome and two from Grant Cooper. The Knights went 3 for 5 with the man advantage.
Senior netminder Kris Oldham was great between the pipes with 30 saves for his 2nd win of the season.
The Knights opened the scoring when Jacome scored at the 14:20 mark of the 1st period. The Knights struck again in the 1st when Anthony Callin scored at 16:15. RIT had a 5-3 power play early in the 2nd period and got their only goal of the game from Elijiah Gonsalves. Clarkson bounced right back to take a 2 goal lead when Cooper got his first of two straight goals at 5:37 of the 2nd. Cooper scored again in the 3rd at 17:25 to put the Knights up 4-1 and Jamie Collins sealed the game up with his first goal as a Golden Knight with the empty netter at 19:01.
The Knights killed off 5 of 6 power plays for the Tigers.
Anthony Romano with 2 assists is the leading scorer so far this season for Clarkson with now 3 goals and 2 assists on the season.
The Knights had games scheduled over the next 10 days but those have been cancelled, so the Knights will next head to Niagara on Dec. 9th to face form Golden Knights Assistant Coach, Jason Lammers's Purple Eagles.
