Ladouceur's 33 Leads Opening Of Cobb-Cole Tourney
Chuck Ladouceur fashioned the league's best round of the season, a three-birdie two-under par 33, in the first round of the Len Cobb-Kenny Cole Memorial Tournament, at Friday's Ben Cordwell Memorial Senior Golf action at the St. Lawrence State Park. The second round of the tournament will be held on Friday.
Ladouceur birdied the first, fifth and eighth holes to open a three-stroke lead over Bob Simpson (38) in the race for Flight A Low Gross honors. The first day lead for Flight A Low Net honors was shared by Ron Rickett, Bob Martin and Dave Shea at 34.
Jim Halpen's 44 led Flight B and Joe Ott followed at 46. Jeff Houmiel opened a two-stroke lead in the Flight B Low Net competition over Dick Hawes with a 36. Butch Harvey's 48 earned a three-stroke lead over John Perretta (51) in Flight C Low Gross.
Al Livingston and Bruce LaJoy shared the Lowe Net lead at 36 and Don Ramie followed at 37.
