Lady Roos Host Kevin Fee Hoop Classic Nov. 8-9

CANTON The SUNY Canton women’s basketball team will play a 25 game regular season schedule that includes 11 home games and a 14 game conference schedule in the team’s second season in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC).

The 2019-20 campaign opens as the team hosts the Kevin Fee/Roos Classic with Coast Guard Academy, SUNY Potsdam and Cazenovia College on November 8th and 9th. The Roos open with Coast guard on Friday at 7 p.m. with the consolation and championship set for 1 and 3 p.m., respectively the following afternoon.

The team plays their next four games on the road, all in non-conference action. Canton hosts Clarkson University (11/25) before opening league play v. Thomas (12/6-7). The Roos will once again play a 14-game NAC schedule with two games each v. the other seven league opponents in the form of weekend doubleheaders.

Just after the conclusion of finals week the team will travel crosstown to square off with St. Lawrence (12/14). The Roos wrap up the 2019 portion of their schedule at the Jim Meagle Tournament hosted by Marietta College on December 29th and 30th. Canton draws Carnegie Mellon in the opening round with the consolation and championship the following afternoon at 1 and 3 p.m., respectively.

SUNY Canton opens 2020 with three straight on the road including a conference weekend at Maine Maritime Academy (1/10-11). The Roos then host six of their next eight contests in the Roos House, all coming in league play, as they square off with Maine Presque Isle (1/17-18), Husson University (1/24-25) and Maine Farmington (2/7-8). The regular season concludes with a weekend series at NVU-Lyndon (2/14-15).

The top six teams in the regular season will qualify for the NAC Tournament, with the top two seeds earning first-round byes. The quarterfinals take place on February 22nd at the higher seed with the semifinals (2/28) and championship (2/29) being hosted by the regular season champion and top overall seed.
