LaRose Takes Part In Teammate's NCAA Assist Mark
The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team won for the fourth time in five games, defeating non-conference visitor Pine Manor College, 101-57. The Pioneers improve to 4-4 on the year with the win, while the Gators, fall to 1-6.
Pioneer sophomore Cameron Parker set an NCAA single-game record with 24 assists. The previous mark, 22, was shared by four players, most recently Oklahoma's Trae Young on December 19, 2017 versus Northwestern State. Parker tied the record with 6:59 to play, feeding E.J. Anosike in the paint. The record setter came 32 seconds later, again to Anosike, while Anosike was the recipient of number 24, at the 5:13 mark. Parker had 15 assists in the first-half of play.
Koreem Ozier scored a career-best 30 points and Anosike had his third double-double in the past five games, with 26 points and 14 rebounds. Ogdensburg's Kinnon LaRose continues his double digit scoring for SH scoring 14 points on 6-12 shooting, 5-6 from two-point range, and grabbed seven rebounds.

Parker handed out 15 assists in the first-half and now has 40 assists in the last two games. Parker surpassed basketball royalty with his total on Sunday: Tony Fairley (Charleston Southern vs. Armstrong 2/9/87), Avery Johnson (Southern U vs. Texas Southern 1/25/88), Sherman Douglas (Syracuse v. Providence, 1/28/89), Trae Young (Oklahoma v. Northwestern State, 12/19/2017).
The Pioneers assisted on 33 of 42 made field goals on Sunday. The 33 assists is a single-game team record, surpassing the 30 the Pioneers handed out versus LIU on February 7, 2009. Seven different Pioneers handed out assists in the game, with three from Anosike
