Late Surge Carries OFA JVs Past Watertown
WATERTOWN - Defense set the tone for OFA's junior varsity basketball meeting against Watertown High in nonleague boys basketball action on Wednesday night.
The Blue Devils put together the best defensive quarter of the contest and a strong offensive run to secure a 39-36 win. The Devils trailed 32-28 entering the quarter and outscored the Cyclones 11-4 secure the win.
"The boys played hard against a good defensive team. We were able to go on a good run late in the game to get the win," said OFA Coach Dakota Brady.
Justice McIntyre provided the offensive spark with two 3-pointers scoring eight points in the fourth quarter. McIntyre tallied 11 points leading a balanced winning offense which also featured 10 points from Kam Johnson, eight from Connor Graveline, four from Shea Polniak and Aiden LaFlair and two from Ryan Mitchell.
Donovan Millan and Kellie Ortiz Merabo led Watertown scoring 11 and nine points.
The OFA Varsity and JV teams will travel to St. Lawrence Central on Friday.
