Lisbon Advances To 16U Baseball Playoff Finals

Clutch hits and a durable five-inning relief stint by Jayden Williams carried Lisbon to 16U Playoff Finals of the Malone Lions Baseball League on Monday.

Lisbon advanced with a 9-7 win over Massena key by four runs in the first and fourth innings.

Jayden Williams struck out seventh and did not walk a batter to survive nine Massena hits after pitching five innings in relief of starter Ben LaRock.

Jack LaRock singled and doubled and scored three runs to lead Lisbon which received two singles fromTyler Gravlin (1 run, 1 RBI), Ben LaRock (2 runs), and Jayden Williams (1 RBI). Dave Pirie singled with two RBIs, and Trent Williams and Armano Lazaro also singled.

Roda doubled in two runs for Massena and Richards drilled an RBI single and Ethan Firnstein struck out nine in five innings. Dominy and J. Firnstein each singled twice.

"They had their full squad tonight and we got some key hits against Ethan Firnstein. Ben LaRock had a short stint but got some key outs in the early innings and Jackson LaRock did a great job catching all seven innings," said Lisbon Coach Dave Gravlin.
