Lisbon Girls Look Come Together Quickly

LISBON - Lisbon Girls Soccer Coach Taylor Abar will be looking for her young players to meld quickly with a solid veteran cast in the 2019 season which begins Tuesday night at 6 p.m. with an NAC West matchup against Heuvelton in the first round of the OFA Tournament. The host Blue Devils will meet Morristown in the other first round matchup and the consolation and championship game of the tournament will be held on Wednesday at 6 and 8 p.m.

The Golden Knights went 10-4 in a three-way tie for second place in the NAC West last season and will be lead by a pair of returning All-NAC performers in high-scoring sophomore Emily Jordan and and junior halfback Makayla Hyde.

Other veterans returning to key positions are: senior midfielder Alexa McKee, Olivia McLear who moves into the sweeper position, senior forward-halfback Kaylee Wood and senior Abby Flack who moves into the starting goaltender role.

"I am very pleased with our efforts so far. This is a very self-motivated group and we have a group of young players who are very aggressive. That is very nice to see," said Coach Abar who will once again be assisted by.

"In our scrimmages we have moved the ball very well. We are excited to get started."
