Lisbon Enjoys 5-1 Start In 16U Baseball

LISBON - Ben LaRock struck out eight batters in in three innings without issuing a walk and Cooper Rutherford closed out the final two innings as the Lisbon 16U Baseball team downed Brushton 18-2 on Friday.

Lisbon, which features several players from Lisbon Central's New York State Class D Final Four team, stands at 5-1 on the summer season. The lone loss came in a 7-1 decision to Massena and standout pitcher Eric Finstein who struck out 12 in five innings. Other wins came over Parishville 17-2 and 13-0; Fort Covington 16-1 and Canton 13-6.

Lisbon will play the Malone Merchants at home on July 24 and the 16U playoffs will begin on July 29.

Lisbon 18 - Brushton 2: Dave Pirie stroked two hits scored four runs and drove in a pair of runs in a well-versed winning offense which also featured a double and two singles and three runs scored by Trent Williams, three hits and two RBIs by Ben LaRock, two hits and three RBIs by Ivan LaRock and a single and a triple and two RBIs by Jayden Williams.

Loren Gravlin doubled and Armando Lazaro added a single.

Lisbon 13 - Parishville 0: Ben LaRock struck out 11 and walked none in four innings and Colin Parmeter closed out the one-hit shutout by pitching three scoreless frames for Lisbon which was led offensively by Jackson LaRock with two hits, two runs and and two RBIs and Ben LaRock who drilled a homerun and a single. Armando Lazaro singled twice, Paremter doubled and Dave Pirie singled.

Massena 7 - Lisbon 1: Eric Finstein anchored a six-hitter for Massena and Deshaies rapped a triple and a single and drove in two runs in the victory. Ben LaRock pitched for Lisbon and also singled twice at the plate. Trent Williams, Dave Pirie, Armando Lazano and Loren Gravlin all added singles.

Lisbon 16 - Fort Covington 1: Ben LaRock struck out 10 in a complete game three-hitter and went 2-for2 at the plate with three runs scored. Issac LaRock lined four hits and scored three times and Jackson LaRock also went 2-for2 and doubled.

Trent Williams also doubled., Jayden Williams singled twice and Dave Pirie, Storm Walker, Collin Parmeter, Anthony Lazano and Loren Gravlin all singled.

Lisbon 17 - Parishville 2: Ben LaRock pitched four innings and Anthony Lazano closed for the Knights and also LaRock also led the offense by driving in six runs with four hits and scored three times. Other offensive contributions came from Jackson LaRock with a single and two runs, Loren Gravlin with two singles and three runs Trent Williams with a single and three RBIs, Issac LaRock with two hits and Jayden Williams with a single and three RBIs.
