Lisbon Recreation Limits Mistakes Downing Massena
LISBON - After Tuesday's 7-2 win over Massena, Lisbon Town Recreation Coach Dave Gravlin credited his 18U team for playing "Mistake Free Baseball."
Mistake Free Baseball which left Massena with a very small margin of error.
"We really played well tonight. Jayden Williams and Colin Parmeter pitched well, we made the plays on defense and we put the bat on the ball," said Coach Gravlin after his team scored four runs in the third and turned in an error free game on defense.
"We played Mistake Free Baseball and that isn't easy to do so I was really impressed with our play."
Jayden Williams pounded the strike zone striking out five and walking just one pitching into the sixth inning. Colin Parmeter secured the last five outs closing out the victory."
Offensively Ben LaRock doubled and singled, Ivan LaRock singled and drove in three runs, Jayden Williams singled twice and Dave Pirie went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Ty Gravlin singled and scored twice, Jack LaRock singled and scored, Colin Parmeter singled and Trent Williams scored a run.
Emery Deshaies, Mason Phillips and Zach Goolden all singled twice for Massena and Nate Eastwood doubled.
Brennin Snyder singled and shared the pitching duties with Garrett Engstrom.
"We beat a good Massena team tonight and we will host a good Gouverneur (North Country Road Runners) team on Thursday (5:30 p.m. start). They have some players from Heuvelton and I know this will be a very big game for them. We have to really come in a play a very solid game," said Coach Gravlin.
