Lowville Breaks Away Harrisville In High Tech Hoop Matchup
LOWVILLE — Lowville will not have a chance to chase a New York State Class B Boys Basketball championship this season but the Red Raiders showed the credentials to do so dispatching Harrisville 79-38 in a high-caliber Lewis County action on Friday. The Raiders (2-0) are led by a senior core which lost to Glenns Falls in the 2019 state title game and Aidan Zehr buried six 3-pointers scoring a game-high 27 point performance followed by twin brothers Gavin and Aidan Zehr with 18 and 13 points.
Nate Schmitt scored 17 points to lead Harrisville (2-1) which won the state Class D crown in 2019. Although fielding a fairly young team the Pirates show the potential to be a Section 10 and state-wide Class D contender in a normal season.
