M-W Builds Momentum Downing Saints
ST. REGIS FALLS - Continuing their drive to secure the top Class C seed in the Section 10 Tournament and staying two games behind undefeated Chateaugay in the NAC East Division race Madrid-Waddington (10-2 14-4) rode an early break-away to a 72-34 win over St. Regis Falls (2-8, 2-14) on Tuesday night.
The Jackets opened a 23-6 first quarter lead and received substantial contributions from up and down the lineup. Brennan Harmer tallied a game-high 20 points with three rebounds, four assists and three steals and Trent Lashua delivered a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double. Kyle Stoner tallied nine points with four assists and Sage Cordwell (7 rebounds, 3 assists) and Nick Cordwell (3 assists, 6 steals) each finished with eight points.
Rounding out the effort were: Drew Harmer (5 points, 9 rebounds), Cody Beldock (5 points) and Jacob Morgan (7 points, 5 rebounds). Coalby Cox and Cody Reuss scored 12 and 13 points to lead St. Regis Falls.
In other NAC East games Parishville-Hopkinton (4-8, 5-12) registered its best outing of the season downing Norwood-Norfolk (5-5, 11-6) 65-50 and Colton-Pierrepont secured a solid 69-59 win over Tupper Lake.
C-P 69 - Tupper Lake 59: Mirroring their season-long development the Colts (2-8, 2-14) scored 19 points in the second quarter and 24 in the fourth to gain a quality division win over the Lumberjacks (2-9, 5-11). Timmy Farns scored 27 points, Aiden Knight delivered 13 points and nine rebounds, Teddy Farns scored 13 points and Michael Schwartzfigure added nine points. Billy LaPierre with three and Noah Rousell and Harlee Besio with two apiece rounded out the scoring.
Jacob Stradley's 19 points led the Lumberjacks followed by Eli Kulzer with 17, Grant Godin with 12 and Noah Varden with nine. Dalton Fountain added two points.
P-H 65 - N-N 50: Harrison Snell struck for two 3-pointers in a 10-point first quarter for the Panthers who bookended the winning offense with 23 points in the first and fourth quarters. Snell finished with 17 points while Burt Chevrier led the Panthers with 21 points. Peyton Snell (9), Lucas Snell (7) and Tanner Rosebarker (7) rounded out a diversified winning total.
Cole Perretta and Nick Burke combined for 14 and 12 points for N-N and Luke Allen followed with nine.
