M-W's Allen Help Roos' Runner To Second Place
CANTON – Jesse Walley and Sara O’Duffy paced the SUNY Canton men’s and women’s cross country teams as they hosted their home invitationals on Saturday.
Walley finished in 15th place overall, while O’Duffy recorded a 21st place showing. The men’s team finished in second place, while the women were fourth.
Walley covered the 8-kilometer course in 29:45 averaging a 6:00 minute mile, while Jeremy Gundrum clocked a 30:14. Madrid-Waddington greaduate Tim Allen (30:37), Kyle Lorey (30:45) and Ben York (31:22) rounded out the scoring runners for the Roos. Morristown's Owen Kuca was the team's sixth runner taking 31st in 32:08.
SUNY Canton totaled 50 team points for second place, while Clarkson took the team title with a perfect 15 points finishing with the top 14 runners.
O’Duffy clocked a 30:59 over the 6-kilometer course, while Kaitlyn Trusty finished in 34:02. Katherine Quane (35:32), Sam Berry (35:51) and Shannyn St. Andrews (38:02) rounded out the top five for Canton.
The Roos totaled 99 points for fourth place just trailing Jefferson Community College (83). Clarkson took the women’s team title with a perfect 15 points earning the top seven places.
