M-W Seniors Excel In Shutout Over St. Lawrence

MADRID - One game after Parishville-Hopkinton shaded Madrid-Waddington for the NAC East Boys Soccer lead, the two teams matched wins on Thursday plotting a course for a potential rematch.
The Jackets (5-1) blanked St. Lawrence Central (3-3) 5-0 and P-H moved to 6-0 with a 2-0 victory over Colton-Pierrpont (6-3-1).
MADRID-WADDINGTON 5 - ST. LAWRENCE CENTRAL 0
Senior Brody VanBurn scored three goals and passed out an assist for the Jackets and classmate Kyle Stoner also scored twice and sophomore Kaden Kingston netted a single goal.
Matt Robinson jump-started the offense in the fifth minute with a quick run out of the midfield and passed the ball to VanBurn who one-timed it into the net.
"It was really good to see us start scoring tonight. We came right out of the gate tonight and it felt like Matthew Robinson took control of the field and was suppported by Drew Harmer and Silas Kent. Matthew passed some great balls tonight from the center of the field and hit the upright and crossbar four-five times. Silas Kent is an upcoming player that shows some great potential. He is a great player that is getting invaluable experience learning from Drew Harmer and Matthew." said M-W Coach Ryan Robinson.
"Our seniors had a really good game tonight."
"We have a crazy upcoming week with multiple games in a row with no rest. It will be good to keep improving and getting our players the much needed experience."
Jacob Morgan made one save in the shutout and Tom Storin collected 13 saves in the face of heavy pressure.
PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 2 - COLTON-PIERREPONT 0
Peyton Snell scored in both halves as the Panthers (6-0) defended the NAC East lead opening the second half of the season and stopped 6-3-1 C-P's seven-game unbeaten streak . Snell scored from Jon Snell in the ninth minute and from Stuart Ayers in the 60th minute.
Caleb Knowles stopped one shot for a shutout and Harlee Besio handled seven chances in the C-P goal.
CHATEAUGAY 3, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 1
Chateaugay won its third in a row handing Norwood-Norfolk its first loss of the season. The Flyers scored first when a shot from Matt Simons connected from Hayden Bullock. The Bulldogs countered with a goal by Owen Rockhill from Walker Martin, Ethan Cook from Jacob Johnston and Nate Harrigan unassisted.
BRUSHTON-MOIRA 6, ST. REGIS FALLS 0
Justin Kennedy scored twice off assists from Edmund Collins and Wayne Palmer and George Webb delivered a goal and an assist.
