M-W Softball Features All New Faces

Madrid-Waddington Softball Coach Tim Dashnaw refers to the coming season affectionately as a "new adventure with a lot of new faces."

"I'm sure that we're in the same boat as all the other teams in Section X this season, but I have all new faces on this team. I do have one senior, Keli Kingston, that I brought up from the JV team two years ago to play in the playoffs. She pitched an inning against St. Lawrence Central, but that was all," said Coach Dashnaw.

"New team, and new adventures for sure."

The Yellow Jackets feature six juniors and five sophomores and will be looking improve over the course of the NAC East season and into the Section 10 Class C playoffs. M-W open its season at home against Tupper Lake in a 5:30 p.m. start.

Keli Kingston - (senior) Pitcher, infielder Annie Basford - (junior) infielder (3rd) Megan Burwell - (junior) infielder/catcher Clare Burhans - (junior) outfielder Aynsley French - (junior) infielder/outfielder Adriauana Willard - (junior) outfielder Lily LaMere - (junior) infielder/catcher/outfielder Alaina Armstrong - (sophomore) - catcher/infielder Caeleigh Burke - (sophomore) - pitcher/infielder Reese Fuller - (sophomore) - pitcher/infielder/outfielder Lacey Sullivan - (sophomore) - infielder Zoey Taylor - (sophomore) - outfielder Overall this is a young team with a lot of talent. Once we shake the rust off from being idle last season we should show signs of solid improvement and be very competitive towards the end of the season and next season. We have two sophomore pitchers that have worked hard on their games and will continue to improve along with two young catchers that show growth every day in practice. Our infield is improving and we really have the luxury of being able to move players around to different positions on the field to fit a pitching change. We're looking forward to an exciting and eventful season!
